Summer here we come!

I've been so excited to get out on the boat this season I could barely stand it! Every summer boating gets a little easier with the boys. In the summer of 2007 we got out only a handful of times. With Alex as a newborn we'd have to coordinate babysitting with Grandma since we were reluctant to take him out with such a floppy neck. Last summer was much easier. Alex was beginning to walk and seemed to like the boat. Most times he'd fall asleep on the ride back to the dock. But, during the first half of the summer Will was worried about Scott driving the boat too fast and the ride being too bumpy. Fortunately all seems to have been forgotten this year and we're smooth sailing. Alex has found his sea legs and even enjoys riding in the bow which is much bumpier.

We headed out this weekend with a new rookie in the boat....cousin Lily. Tim, Robin & Lily headed down from Greensboro to go out with us. Up until then, the deepest water Lily had been in was the bath. She was a trooper, even with the big puffy life jacket! She dipped her toes in the lake and enjoyed feeding the ducks.

Best of all, we had Grandma & Grandpa back at our place cooking up a roast lamb for post-boating festivities. Well, I should say Grandma was doing the cooking....Grandpa was busy watching the end of the Quail Hollow Golf Championship (in Charlotte this weekend).

Here's to many more days on the lake this summer...ahhhhh....what a life!!

too cute! Alex looks soooo much like Will! We'll miss riding once or twice with you on the boat this year! Go really, really fast for me next time!
