Each Mother's Day, the 4-year old classes at Will's preschool do a special project. It's a short "survey" that the teachers do with the kids. Here's what Will's said (his answers are in CAPS):
My Mom...By Will
My Mom's name is NICOLA.
She is FIFTY-SIX years old.
Here favorite foods are WATERCHESTNUTS and CRAB LEGS.
She likes to drink MILK.
Her favorite color is YELLOW and her favorite flower is a ROSE.
Her hobbies are PLAYING WITH ME and BEING ABLE TO DO WHAT SHE WANTS.
She is special to me because SHE LIKES TO HANG OUT WITH ME.
If I could give her anything in the world it would be a FOUR SLICE TOASTER because IT WOULD WORK FASTER.
The funny thing is that before last week, Will didn't know what waterchestnuts were. We had them in a Steamfresh mixed veggie bag one night and Will wasn't crazy about them so he unloaded his onto my plate. I like them, but I wouldn't say they're my favorite. He's exactly right about the crab legs though and the milk (we even splurge and have our milk delivered fresh from the farm.)

About the toaster...it was my top request for Christmas 2008. Every morning while I scrambled to get the boys fed before preschool I would say to Will "you know what I'd really like from you & Alex for Christmas, right?" He'd say, "yes, Mum a 4-slice toaster so breakfast would be ready faster". I guess I kind of drilled it into his head! Needless to say the boys came through with a toaster for Christmas!
On a separate note, I spent my Mother's Day in a very non-traditional way again this year...doing the Mega Zipline at the US National Whitewater Center. I've been wanting to try this ever since they built it. Finally my wish came true. It was fun (not scary) and that's from a girl who HATES rollercoasters.

That's great you did a zipline! I love Will's survey answers. A four slice toaster is nice. We don't have a toaster; I just use the toaster oven.
