Finally, after two WEAK excuses for a "snow storm" we got a REAL one last night! Official reports say we got 4 inches!!! After 3 straight days of rain, things changed over to snow at about 7 o'clock last night. By 9:30am this morning, we were out playing in full force. Of course Scott was at work early...hey, anything less would have put a serious dent in his Canadian pride!
We sledded and tubed for just over an hour before the boys were soggy and losing steam. Poor Will does not own a pair of boots so he was out there in his shoes. I had to wring out his socks when he came in. Thank goodness for Alex's wellies because things started melting pretty quick and there was a steady stream draining to the sewer. Plus the water was WAY more fun for Alex to play in than the slushy snow.
So, we came in and enjoyed hot chocolate with marshmallows and the boys played fort. After lunch and a nap/rest we were out there again. This time there was much less snow and the roads were dry. That's one thing we've learned after 10+ years in the Carolinas...when it snows, get out there to enjoy it quickly!
Here's some pics of the highlights:
