Creature of Habit

Over the last week, Alex has been climbing onto and into everything. He's always taking the step/stool from the bathroom and using it to climb up and reach stuff. This includes:

• lightswitches (a favorite)
• tables (the coffee table mostly)
• countertops (usually the boys' bathroom so he can reach Will's toothpaste and eat it)
• the phone (at least 3 times this morning alone)

This morning he put the step in the kitchen, grabbed the vanilla from the lazy susan and climbed up to reach the counter so he could pretend he was baking. He sees Will standing on the step to help me bake and wanted to do the same, no doubt.

As for climbing into stuff, it's been the play shopping cart and the tub of Legos this week:

Note the fingers from the right hand in his mouth and blankie in the left hand. That boy is in love with his blanket. Fortunately, it doesn't leave the house/car (I'm terrified we might loose it and his afternoon naps and peaceful bedtimes would be gone forever).

Alex has been climbing into things before he could walk. Here's the first time (May 2008). I'm sure his climbing is only going to get higher (and wilder) from here.
