Alex's First Haircut

On Saturday, we took Alex to the barber (Rodica) for his first haircut. It was getting really long around his ears and starting to flare out, so I decided it was time. After all, he turns 1 next month and I guess it's time to let my little baby start looking like a big boy. Rodica's famous for always offering the kids Tootsie Pops. In fact, I think each time we go Will's more excited about the lollipops than about his haircut. My one lollipop limit had been blown out the window 2 years ago. So, on this visit Will ate 3 (he had to wait for both Scott AND Alex to have their hair cut) and Rodica managed to sqeeze 3 more into the pockets of his shorts. I usually stash them when we get home and then Will forgets about them until it's time to go back.

The good thing about lollipops is it keeps the kids sitting still for their haircut. So, as part of his rite-of-passage (and out of necessity) Alex got his first lollipop while he had his haircut. He was a champ, and despite being REALLY sticky and covered in hair by the end he did great! Of course, the sugar was a shock to his little system and he threw-up all over himself in the carseat right afterwards. But, overall it was a good visit and he looks so cute with his new haircut!

Lollipops are ABSOLUTELY thee secret to easy kid hair cuts. My kids think getting their hair cut is some fabulous sugar filled event. Sebastian always manages to eat at least three while we are there. Glad to see he's not alone :) Really vute picture of Alex...can't believe he will be one soon!!
