Getting that Christmas feeling

Over the last few weeks, we've been getting into the Christmas spirit. I DVR'd some Christmas specials and a few movies, so the boys have been watching them while I make supper. Right now Frosty and Rudolph are the favorites. We haven't watched the Grinch yet, but Will starting asking about it today (calling it the movie about the green guy with spiky hair...I guess that must be the Grinch, right?)

Last week I took Alex to see Leonard Bearstein at Founder's Hall (a great Charlotte tradition). He watched for a while, but I think he had more fun running and sliding on the super-slippy floor. We'll have to go again so Will can see the bears too since he was in preschool the day we went. Speaking of preschool, as a student in one of the 4-year old classes he was invited to ride the church's school bus in the local parade! He wore his Santa hat and preschool t-shirt and had a big old time waving to all the families.

On Saturday, we took the boys on the Santa train at the NC Transportation Museum. Santa drove up on a vintage fire truck to get the train. Alex is big into firetrucks at the moment and even makes the whee-ooo, whee-ooo sounds. Both the boys thought the truck was pretty cool. We caught the 11:30 train had a quick visit with Santa. Will was brave and went up to chat with him but Alex screamed before Santa even got close. Maybe next year. We spun through the rest of the museum (spending most of our time checking out Santa's fire truck) and then grabbed some lunch. After a snooze on the drive home, Scott and Will headed to the rink for a "Stick & Puck" skating session. Will starts skating lessons in January and can't wait to start playing hockey.

Love the photos. Sounds like you are all having a lovely holiday season. We took Ty to see the bears and Founders Hall also. He was not very interested but did like going up and down the stairs a bunch of times. To be honest, Rick and I thought the bears were lame but I suppose it is not geared toward adults anyway!
