Please Hold....he's growing up too fast!

Ever since Will started in the four-day-fours program at preschool last week, he's been all about learning to write his numbers and letters. We've got an easel set up in the living room and he asks me to make numbers (using dots) so that he can trace them. This is a daily activity, so he's getting pretty good. He's always pointing out the speed limit signs (Mum...it's a 4 and a 5...is that fifty four or forty five? And how fast are you going?) It seems like the conversation always happens on the way to preschool when we're speeding a little to try and get there on time!

His new hobby is post-it notes. I find them all over the house. Some have his name written on them, some have Alex's name, some just have doodles and today I found one that just said "no". When we go grocery shopping he takes his own post-it notes and pencil and has me write items on his list for him to find. He crosses them off as he goes. It's really cute (or at least his A-type Mum finds it cute!)

At school today, he got his homework book for the year. He's so excited since he knows big-kids get homework. The whole drive home he just kept talking about how he had to do his homework. There were no teacher directions, so I suspect the real "homework" doesn't start until next week, but he had to get a jump on it. So, during his rest he sat in his room and traced A,a,B,b,C,c

After his rest he come down to look through the Sunday morning comics as I caught up on the paper from the last few days. He saw the Soduko and started asking questions about how it works. I explained it was a grown-up thing (big mistake) and that since this one was labeled a "black belt" in difficulty we should probably stick with the funnies. But that just made him more determined. So, as I read the paper he worked on the Soduko. I'd give him a choice of which boxes to put a number in and he'd pick which one to write it in. I admit, the nerdy part of me gleamed with pride.

I'm soooo impressed with your little study buddy! I wish Peyton would take some direction from Will; she has NO interest in her writing her letters or numbers. Teacher says not to worry, she will by end of school this year...
Hugs to all!!! Send video of Alex walking, PLEASE!!!!!
