Last week, we got a new book at the library called "Mail Harry to the Moon". It's about a big brother who's not too impressed with his new baby brother, so he starts brainstorming ways to get rid of him. It's been one of Will's favorites lately and we read it at least once a day. So, whenever Alex does something to tick Will off he yells (at the top of his lungs) "Mail Alex to the Moon!". Yesterday I did something (I don't even remember what) to offend him and so he yells "Mail Mum to the moon!". I was in a feisty mood anyway so here's how the rest of the conversation went:
Mum: Hey Will, is there a beach on the moon?
Will: I think so.
Mum: Do you think there's anyone else on the moon?
Will: Nope. Maybe just a couple aliens.
Mum: Is there cold beer on the moon?
Will: Probably.
Mum: OK, perfect! Can you find an envelope big enough for me to fit in...I'd like to go right now.
Will: But wouldn't you be lonely?
Mum: Maybe after a couple days. Then I'd like to come back home to you guys.
Since then, he hasn't offered to send me to the moon again.
Problem solved. That's my "how to outwit a 4-year old" lesson for today. Stay tuned for more.
