Happy Birthday, Scott G!

Yesterday was Scott's birthday. Growing up, birthdays were always a big deal. Our tradition was ice cream cake and your choice of meals for supper. As an adult it's no secret that I still expect the royal treatment for my birthday. Scott ALWAYS delivers. He knows I love surprises and there's always at least 1. This year it was an awesome mountain bike which totally floored me (it should come in handy with my newest challenge...joining the Charlotte Dirt Divas...but more on that later).

Scott always downplays his birthday. When I ask for birthday ideas, he can't think of anything. When we ask what he'd like to do on his special day he says "oh, just hang out with my family". This year I wanted him to feel really appreciated and loved. So this year we didn't ask for ideas, we just took charge. The boys and I went out of our way to make him feel special.

Since we celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday and Scott's birthday was Saturday we had homemade pecan pie as birthday cake. On Saturday morning Will, Tim & I made him a breakfast pizza complete with sausage, hashbrowns, peppers and scrambled egg. Yum! After opening gifts we dropped Scott off at Emerson Joseph (an upscale men's salon) for a pedicure. They even serve the guys a beer while they pamper them! We headed home for lunch and naps (all around) and then got ready for our night out. Our babysitter came at 6pm and we headed over to Mickey & Mooch to meet our friends Rob & Robin and Marty & Bridgit for drinks and supper. A couple bottles of wine and the dinner special (baby Nova Scotia lobster tails and a filet) made for the perfect night. Happy birthday, Kiddo....we hope you had a memorable brithday!
