Happy Birthday, Little One!

On Tuesday, Alex turned one. I can't believe it's been a year already! From the days of first smiles, learning to sit and more recently mastering the army crawl, it's been action packed. Alex's really developing his own little personality and is beginning to play well with Will. He laughs at the funny things Will does, and lets it be known when someone does anything to make him mad. Although the army crawl is still his main mode of transportation, he's getting pretty good at walking while holding on (securely) to your hands. He'll take short walks pushing his walking toy too.

For his birthday, Alex got a Castle Climb & Slide (from Will) and a ride on/push car from Mum & Dad. He's getting used to the castle and loves the car. We're hoping the weather cools down so we can take it for a spin around the neighborhood!

Aunt Donna ordered Alex his very own "smoosh" cake from Harris Teeter (airbrushed CRAZY colors), complete with balloons. Grandma & Grandpa came over for supper to join in the festivities. It took Alex a little while to get the hang of sticking his hands into the cake, but he figured it out! We were glad to have Grandma on hand for bath night since she's the tubbie queen!

It's been an amazing year, little one. I can't wait to see what the next year's got in store for us!
