On Saturday, we took our first family boat ride of 2008. Last summer was tough, since Alex was a newborn. We got out on the water maybe 4 times and had to coordinate all our trips with Grandma so she could watch Alex. But now that he's 10 months and his neck has lost the "bobble-factor" we're thrilled to be back on the water together. Alex did great on his first ride and was falling asleep towards the end. Will had lost his sea legs at the beginning, saying the dock was too wobbley, and so was the boat. After we got going, he came around and even asked Scott to go faster....a drastic change from last year, when he was always asking him to slow down and get rid of the bumps. He tells us that since he's almost 4, he's not scared of going fast anymore.
We use the "almost 4" card a lot with Will....4 more sips of milk, 4 more bites of veggies, and my favorite..."I bet you can't get yourself dressed in less than 4 minutes". I wonder how long this trick will last?
Since it was still a little chilly to swim, we spent our time looking for ducks to feed. We found a few in one of the coves and shared our multi-colored goldfish with them.

Awesome! Back on the water, I love boating season. Let's meet up there sometime. Where did you get Alex's PFD? It looks like a good one- not too bulky.
